ProForma is a one-stop solution for production of music used in the performance arts. We are specialized in producing seamless transitions between adjoining pieces of music and mastering a final audio product specifically optimized for the desired performance environment (i.e. ice rink).
ProForma has been servicing the performance arts community for over 10 years. We were one of the first to bring digital editing and custom CD mastering technologies to performance music from our inception in 1996. With the online technology now commonly available, we have broadened our service area to include the entire world…
ProForma has prepared music for performers seen in; Stars on Ice, Canadian National Figure Skating Championships, various other ice shows, and for over 100 performers. We have also contributed music to modern dance/jazz shows and community musicals.
At ProForma we do NOT select music. Effective music always reflects the personality and abilities of the performer(s); only those who work with the performer(s) can choose the right music for them. However, ProForma can consult in selecting the edits that will result in the best product musically and work with the client to build a high quality end result.
ProForma has implemented a number of technologies to facilitate the role of the client in having a musical selection produced. Clients can upload uncut selections directly to ProForma from their homes. Likewise, ProForma offers online previews of a client’s music in the pre-production stage. No shipping of CDs is required until we ship the final product.
ProForma is staffed by two PhD-trained auditory physiologists both with extensive personal experience participating in the performance arts. Both are musicians and one also holds an HBSc degree in Biophysics (acoustics). This professional background gives ProForma a distinctive technical advantage over other music production services.
